Valparaiso: you either love it, or you …. don´t. In any case, it is worth having visited this colonial city, to take in the faded grandeur of this unique harbor town, nestled between the sea and the forested coastal mountain range. In 2003, Valparaiso, meaning “the valley of paradise”, was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO.
In this carefully crafted private tour, we show you all the hidden nooks, backstreets and peculiarities of Valparaiso. Staring our voyage to the coast, we first visit Con Con & Reñaca, two laid back beach towns to have a coffee and take pictures from view points nestled on the rocks. Following the road, we drive through Viña del Mar and end in Valparaiso. There we enjoy a ride in one of the antique funiculars (the oldest stems from 1883) to take in the colorful vistas of this bohemian town, followed by a boat trip through the bay and to meet the enormous sea lions that rest on buoys and shipwrecks. We then have lunch at an exquisite restaurant with sea-view, with amongst others delicious sea food (not included in the price). We then finish out trip with a visit to Pablo Neruda´s house La Sebastiana followed by our return to Santiago.
