If you know Hergé’s ”Tintin in Tibet” you will remember the snow rackets he uses to climb the Himalaya mountains.
During the winter time in Chile, June to September, you can experience snowshoe trekking through the wilderness of the snowy Andes. It’s the only sounds that you’ll hear between your footsteps and the snow. You will observe the silence and the breathtaking beauty of the high Andes in the Cajón del Maipo area called Lagunillas.
We start our adventure in a cozy Swiss ski chalet located in the midst of the Andes Hills.
Here we will get ready for our snowshoe adventure with a coffee or a hot chocolate and a little something to eat. The trekking will last around 2 hours, depending on your pace.
Once we arrive back, we will be greeted with a hearty home cooked meal, prepared by our Swiss cook!
Don’t worry if you feel out of shape for this hike, we adjust the walk to your fitness. It’s really is about the fun of trying out the way they moved through the snow hundreds of years ago. Please bring warm yet sporty clothing. You’ll get warm soon after starting the walk. A backpack is useful and be sure to bring a hat, sunglasses for snow and sunscreen.
You will be picked up at 08.00 and returned by 18.00 to your hotel. Driving time is about 2 hours.
2 days before it starts for a full refund, with no refunds after that.
