Boutique Maipo Winery Tour
Explore 2 boutique wineries in the Maipo valley on this beautiful day out. After being picked up from your accommodation Santiago we head to the first winery of the day for our Boutique Maipo Winery Tour. During the visit of this unique winery you will enjoy a tour through the property, get insight to the wine making process and have a wine tasting.
We then head to an authentic Chilean restaurant for lunch where you can taste various Chilean specialities on the menu. They also have a generous wine card to accompany our lunch.
We continue our tour and visit the second boutique winery of the day, followed by a tour of the property & tasting in the wine cellars.
Maipo Valley
The Maipo Valley is the closest wine producing are close to Santiago and consists of 3 sub areas: Alto Maipo, Central Maipo and the Pacific Maipo. We focus on our Tour on the Alto Maipo wineries which are located at the foothills of the Cordillera or the Chilean Andes. As most wine valleys in Chile, the micro-climate that the Andes help to create are excellent for viticulture: at night the temperatures drop drastically and during the day the sun in blazing hot. These temperature variations between day and night, in combination with a poor and rocky soil, result in bold & elegant red wines, such as Carmenère and Cabernet Sauvignon. Pick up
You will be picked up at 08.45 and returned by 17.00 to your hotel in Santiago. Driving time is about 1 hour.
