Family-Owned Wineries Tour

For those wine lovers seeking a more intimate winery tour and the opportunity to meet the winemaker and/or owner, we have carefully selected 2 wineries for you in the Casablanca Valley for our Family-Owned winery tour.

Small, family-owned wineries have an emotional attachment to their land and follow with great attention every step in the wine-making process to ensure great wines. Family-owned wineries are independent winemakers that often have smaller productions, great wines and often still hand-label wine bottles. For the ultimate wine lover the person behind the label is as important as the end product in the glass ♥

On both winery tours, by the winemaker or owner himself, you will learn about the history of the family-owned winery, the choices and sometimes sacrifices that have been made, the wine making process itself. Finally, you will have the opportunity to taste a fine selection of their wines.

For lunch we will also visit a privately-owned restaurant where the owner will be happy to entertain us with his personal life stories and his vast knowledge of wine.

Casablanca Valley

Both of these family-owned wineries are located in the Casablanca Valley – famous for its production of cool climate wines due to its geographical position. The Casablanca Valley offers an excellent wine terroir due to the combination of sloppy hills, poor soil, extreme temperature variations between day and night, which results in a slow-ripening process.

Pick up

You will be picked up at 10.00 and returned by 17.00 to your hotel. Driving time from Santiago is about 1 hour.
Another nice day out is the Cajón del Maipo & Winery Tour.
